What We Believe
From all that is said in the Bible about God, we have drawn Eight Essential Truths.
These are the core beliefs of scripture -- the foundation of a Christian life. Everything we do at Student Life takes these truths into consideration to be sure that we hold to our ultimate goal of Helping People Know Christ Through His Word.
Take a moment to learn more about the truths that guide everything we do.
Everything we do at Student Life is all about ::
. . . Pointing People to Christ
"For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."
1 Corinthians 2:2
-- Jesus Christ is the focus of every worship service, Bible study, and drama.
-- Christ’s example is the standard by which we measure our teaching and content.
-- Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, providing forgiveness from sin and access to the Father.
. . . Bringing God's Word to Life
"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword...
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
-- We believe that the most life-impacting things ever said are found in God's Word.
-- We use drama, music, and preaching to communicate the power of God's Word.
. . . Encouraging People to Worship
"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father
in spirit and truth..." John 4:23
-- We create a worship environment where students encounter God in all His glory.
-- We recognize the profound impact true worship has on students as they enter the presence of the Father.
. . . Helping People Experience Spiritual Intimacy
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
-- We provide opportunities for students and their leaders to experience the energy and encouragement of Christian community.
-- Small groups of students create a safe place to experience the joy of identifying with others.
. . . Challenging People to Lead
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering
God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10
-- Involving adults as family group leaders enables them to grow through teaching.
-- Giving teenagers opportunities as student leaders and student staffers opens the door to a life of growth through leadership.
. . . Supporting the Local Church
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who
belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10
-- We believe in the local fellowship and the full-time responsibility that youth leaders have to teens.
--
We express servanthood through ultimate customer service, making the
process of getting ready for events "youth leader sensitive" and
practical.
-- We hope to invest in the lives and ministries of those called to work with students.
