Benefits
*The following are offered to permanent, salaried positions unless otherwise noted.
Medical & Dental Insurance
Eligible employees are covered under United HealthCare of Alabama and enter the plan on their first day of employment. This plan covers medical, pharmacy and vision coverage. Dental coverage is covered through Principal Financial Group.
Retirement 401(k) Plan
*Available to Part-Time Employees if the 1,000 hr/year requirement is met.
Employees
become eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) plan after one year of
employment (minimum 1,000 hours per year). Employees may contribute up to 15%
of their salary (tax-deferred) into a retirement account. The company may contribute a profit-sharing match to be determined at the end of each year of
ministry. Several investment options are available for the employee to
self-direct the investment of contributions and the company's match. Vesting of
the company's contribution match begins after two years of service. Employees are
100% vested after six years of service.
Life Insurance, AD&D and Disability
The
company pays for a Term Life Insurance and AD&D benefit worth employees'
gross annual salary. In addition, the company pays for short term and long term
disability insurance benefits based on gross annual salaries in the event that
and accident causes a disability situation that prevents the employee from
being able to work. All of these benefits are issues through Lincoln Financial
Group.
Optional Life Insurance
The
company invites employees to purchase term life insurance through a group
policy. The employee may pay for this coverage through a payroll deduction.
Paid Vacation, Holidays and Other Time Off
The company offers ten paid holidays. Permanent, salaried employees also receive two weeks of paid vacation each year, plus one additional week for sick days or personal business. An additional week of vacation time is awarded after five years of service.
Employees may take up to five paid days off to participate in ministry opportunities, such as mission trips, retreats, etc. Supervisor approval is required. Comp time is available to employees who travel for the company over the weekend for events, trade shows, etc.
Student Life also follows federal guidelines for other types of time off including Family Care and Medical Leave, jury duty or Workers Compensation leave.
Workers' Compensation Insurance
*Available to Part-Time EmployeesAll company employees are eligible to file for Workers' Compensation in the event of a medical emergency on the job. The company is committed to making sure that the employee's medical needs are met.
Adoption Assistance
*Available to year-round Part-Time Employees working at least 25 hours per week
Student Life is an environment that is very familiar with adoption. We want to support employees that are
pursuing this option to expand their immediate families. Student Life will provide qualified
active employees with financial reimbursement for adoption related expenses.
