If only you knew

So I was supposed to send up a small video preview this week. That did not happen. We are in “go” time right now. The staff at this moment is rehearsing, trouble shooting, writing, building and “a whole lot of other stuff” There have been a couple bumps along the way but this team is ready. I’ll try and take some photos during their technical rehearsal.  Ok. again sorry and I promise to do better.

Peace

Yes we know

Yes we have been away for a bit. I think that’s what happens with the holidays. We will be back up and going in the next few weeks. We have a lot to show you.  The set is up in the warehouse. Plasmas are hooked up and the staff arrives on Jan 2.  Kristian says the album is going well and he has a video of the studio he’s working on. So hang with us.

Oh and by the way we are looking for student staffers to volunteer at the conference. To find out more click here.

Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to write a quick note. This week we had the opportunity to meet Wes Stafford.  He is the president and CEO of Compassion International.  He spoke with the staff and challenged us to forgive the ones who have hurt us.  If you haven’t read his book Too Small to Ignore you would not know his personal story that makes the act of forgiveness so powerful.  So a couple things. Happy Thanksgiving and if you are interested in sponsorship you can click here.  Thanks and we will see you on the other side of Holidays.

Quick Note From Francis

Hey Everyone,
This is Francis Chan.  I’m looking forward to hanging out with you at the conferences.  It was in high school that I began a relationship with Christ, and it just gets better every year.  He’s taught me so much recently and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
I’m a pastor in the LA area, been married 15 years and have 4 kids.  Boring stuff to you (I never got excited about old people and their kids when I was in high school), but I’m pretty crazy about my family.  I’m already thinking and praying about what to share with you all.  I’m anticipating God doing amazing things.

Yes it is The Stuart Hall

Yo! What’s happening? This is Stuart Hall dropping a dime to let you know how excited I am to be joining Student Life, my dear friends Kristian, Tim, Joe, Alex, and Matt, Francis and hopefully you on the Live Love Tour this spring. It really is an honor to be able to hang with you for a few days and consider what it means to live love. A monumental task to say the least…

I am a nobody, so Drew wanted me to give you a 411 heads up of who I am, where I am from, and what I am about. I am originally from Mobile, Alabama. Atlanta is home. Played basketball in college. Probably should have played football. Have worked with students for 20 years. Right now I provide vision and leadership for two really cool non-profit organizations (XP3 & DASH INC)… deeply desire to develop spiritually influential students that engage culture… partner with great organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to develop students as leaders… travel and speak to lots of students and leaders each year… have coauthored three books (The Seven Checkpoints: Seven Principles Every Teenager Needs to Know, MAX Q: Developing Students of Influence and Wired: For a Life of Worship, Leaders Edition)… am working on authoring one or two more by myself when I grow up… love to laugh incessantly… coach both of my daughters’ basketball teams… relish watching our son play football and basketball and our daughters play basketball and soccer… and love my beautiful wife Kellee with every fiber of my being.  You know… normal stuff.

This may sound weird, but to be really honest, if I can figure out how, I would love to get out of this “ministraaaa” deal and coach or teach or run a skating rink (NASCAR on training wheels). Don’t get me wrong: I am very passionate about what I do. I just don’t believe it is the most effective way to live love. Or at least to those that need most the love we have. Too much is made of people who stand in front of others and speak. And men and women that work in ministry don’t spend the majority of their time loving others personally. That is why, if you are not in ministraaaa, you are in the most enviable position. What we have to figure out is what it really means to live love. And that’s why I would love to meet you during the Conference, because I really think those two words sum up what it means to follow Jesus.

Looking forward to getting to meet you! Hopefully I’ll be checking back in occasionally to lay down a new beat or two (like that music lingo, don’t ya?) When we see each other, make sure you introduce yourself as that guy or girl that read this blog entry. That way I’ll know exactly who you are : )

Peace!
